The library has numerous volumes with autograph dedications of famous historians and the courses of the seminar on universal history, Byzantinology, Slavic History and Arts History. The libraries of professors P. P. Panaitescu, I. Andrieşescu, N. Bănescu were fully purchased. Important donations of A. Sacerdoţeanu, V. Maciu, M. Kandel, D. Giurescu were also included in the collection. Among the most valuable encyclopedias held by the History Library are: The illustrated encyclopedic dictionary “Cartea Românească” by A. Cândea and Gh. Adamescu, Bucharest, 1931; “The Great Geographical Dictionary of Romania” by I. G. Lahovari, I. C. Brătianu and G. G. Tocilescu, Bucharest, 1898-1902; „Dictionnaire critique et documentaire des peintres, sculpteurs, dessinateurs et graveurs des tous les temps et de tous les pays” by E. Benezit, Paris, 1924 as well as Encyclopedia Britannica, Encyclopedia Americana, Encyclopedia Universalis etc.
