The two sections of the Biology Branch encompass a collection with a total of 66,769 volumes, three reading rooms (60 seats) and a loan center. In the reading rooms and the loan center, 14,168 volumes are available for open access. For both sections, the documents in the collection can be accessed by querying the general catalog.

The library’s collection include documents in the field of biological and related sciences: Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Genetics, Ecology, Environmental Science, Biochemistry, Animal Physiology, Plant Physiology, Biotechnology, Medicine, Chemistry, etc.

The collection includes, in addition to basic treaties on the subjects taught in class, the works of great foreign naturalists: C. Bernard, Ch. Darwin, JB Lamarck, G. Cuvier, GL Buffon, C. Linné and works of Romanian researchers and professors: E Racoviţă, Gr. Antipa, C. Motaş, II Niţescu, NL Cosmovici, D. Brândză, D. Grecescu, Tr. Săvulescu.
